21st of March is Nowruz (New day in Persian). Nowruz is not only a celebration for Persian New Year or a Zoroastrian festival which was invented by Zoroaster himself. Nowruz is the first day of spring and the day of the astronomical vernal equinox. The day that the nature also celebrates when the Sun leaves the zodiac of Pisces and enters the zodiacal sign of Aries, signifying the Spring Equinox. To celebrate Nowrouz you don’t need to be from particular nation or race as nature celebrates Nowruz regardless of geographical borders! That’s why Nowruz is an international celebration for everyone wherever in the world they are. The international day of Nowruz is a spring festival of Persian origin which has been celebrated for over 3,000 years (UN.org. 23 February 2010).
So at the beginning of spring, let’s wish peace, health and prosperity for people of the world; And because Persians invented Nowruz, Let’s hope a day would come that Persia celebrates Nowruz in peace and freedom without any sign of a foreign religion and none-Persian thoughts,a day that every single Persian freely would dance, sing and share joy and happiness with Toasting a glass of real Shiraz wine in the streets of Great Persia to the rest of the world.
